Interfaces for Opal-RT Hardware

For the present and future owners of a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators from Opal-RT, imperix provides straighforward interfaces that provide either:

  • 16 optical inputs and 16 analog outputs
  • 16 optical outputs and 16 analog inputs
  • No change in the control code is necessary to switch from HIL-simulated converter to a real-world physical converter, as the cables can be just swapped from one system to another. Simultaneous operation of both systems is also possible.

    These adapters can be directly ordered at imperix or Opal-RT.

    For the cases where the RJ45 connectors cannot be implemented, a simple adapter can be used to interface any sensors to the BoomBox. Its features are as follows:

    • Provides +15 V and -15 V (non-isolated) power supplies to the sensor/signal source (up to 100 mA on each line).
    • Analog input range : -10..+10 V (high impedance mode) or -100..+100 mA (low impedance mode).
    • Wire-to-board or board-to-board connector option.

    Modulink 800V DIN-mountable voltage sensor

    The semi-industrial version of the ModuLink 800V isolated voltage sensor provides precise means for voltage sensing in power electronics applications. The device is compatible with 35mm DIN rails and is equiped with fast 6mm2 phoenix contacts.
    The module can be self-powered by the BoomBox control platform and shares most of its features with the smaller 400V laboratory voltage sensor.

    Modulink 50A DIN-mountable current sensor

    The semi-industrial version of the ModuLink 50A isolated current sensor provides precise means for current sensing in power electronics applications. The device is compatible with 35mm DIN rails and is equiped with fast 6mm2 Phoenix contacts.
    The module is based on a LEM LAH50-P current sensor and can be self-powered by the BoomBox control platform.

    Fiberoptic cables (HFBR-RNS001Z)

    Used as isolated gate-drive interfaces, these manufactured fiberoptic cables are connecting the 16 PWM outputs of the BoomBox control platform to your gate drivers. These are available in 1 m or 2 m lengths.
