When it come to the rapid prototyping of power electronics, one of the simplest ways to start working is to rely on pre-manufactured and pre-tested power modules. Independently from the desired topology, such modules can be assembled to form a working power converter system in a blink of an eye.
Reusing high performance cooling systems for industrial computers, PEB series are provided with an air-cooling system that features approximately 120W TDP. Compatible with standard 4-pin cooling systems, the fan speed can be externally controlled for variable-speed operation.
With their maximum DC bus voltage of 800V, the PEB8032 are ideal for all applications tied to the 230V AC grid. For single-phase applications, two identical modules can be associated to form a full bridge. Three PEBs form an easy-to-build three-phase converter.
The PEB8032 phase-leg modules contain all auxiliary subsystems such as isolated gate drivers, measurement, cooling and safety. Combined with the BoomBox control platform, the modules are ideally suited to build up ambitious prototypes of any low-voltage converter, ranging from conventional three-phase inverters to multilevel topologies.
The PEB series are also available in a water-cooled version, featuring a 250W full-custom heat exchanger. This allows to exploit IXYS power switches up to their maximal performances and enables very high power densities for very demanding applications.
All systems are designed, manufactured and assembled in Switzerland. The PEB series benefits from a long-term development effort that leads to more reliable power conversion systems, which are also extremely easy to implement.
