When it come to the rapid prototyping of power electronics, one of the simplest ways to start working is to rely on pre-manufactured and pre-tested power modules. Independently from the desired topology, such modules can be assembled to form a working power converter system in a blink of an eye.
Built with up to 8 identical phase-legs, the water-cooled Powertrench converters are the ideal tool for very high power density systems. Typically up to 100kW of power conversion can be builting within a 4U enclosure.
Using up to 8 phase-leg modules, the air-cooled Powertrench converters offer an easy-to-implement approach for those with less stringent noise or thermal requirements. Typically up to 50kW of power conversion can be builting within a 4U enclosure.
The Powertrench converters come with a supervisory board that controls all devices temperatures, flow sensors, fans speeds, etc. Besides, all corresponding informations are displayed in the LCD screen, as well as made available through CAN. The supervisory circuit also allows to collect and process all feedback signals from the gate drivers.
More than one Powertrench converter enclosure can be used to build up more complex or more powerful converter topologies, with power rating up to more than 100kW. Combined with the BoomBox, implementing high-performance mid-power conversion system becomes a child’s play!
All systems are designed, manufactured and assembled in Switzerland. Besides, both water- and air-cooled modules benefit from a long-term development effort that lead to more reliable power conversion systems.
